Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at the weekend went on a condolence visit to the troubled Esiele Yawota Community in Orire Local Government Area, commiserating with families affected by a recent bandit attack that has thrown the area into mourning and uncertainty.
The governor’s visit comes amid heightened tension following the abduction of the principal of Community Grammar School, who was kidnapped alongside several teachers and pupils during the attack on the school community.
During the emotionally charged visit, Makinde was seen consoling Professor Wole Alamu, who has been left distraught over the kidnapping of his wife and others in the incident. The moment, captured by observers, reflected the deep anguish of families still grappling with the shock of the attack.
Makinde assured residents of the state government’s commitment to strengthening security operations in the area and intensifying efforts, in collaboration with security agencies, to secure the safe return of the abducted victims.
