Iran World Cup Fans Face Uncertainty After Ticket Allocation Withdrawal

Thousands of Iranian football supporters could miss their country’s matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after reports emerged that Iran’s ticket allocation was withdrawn just days before the start of the tournament.

The development has reportedly left many fans in limbo, despite having already made travel arrangements and secured accommodation for the competition.

The situation comes amid ongoing diplomatic and visa-related challenges involving Iranian nationals and the United States, one of the tournament’s host nations.

These complications have also affected the preparations of the Iranian national team ahead of the World Cup.

In response to the difficulties, Iran relocated its training base from Tucson, Arizona, to the Estadio Caliente complex in Tijuana, Mexico. The team is now expected to operate from the Mexican border city throughout the tournament.

Reports indicate that the Iranian squad will commute across the border into the United States on match days and return to Mexico afterward, as they are required to enter and leave the country on the same day.

Iran are scheduled to begin their Group G campaign against New Zealand in Los Angeles on June 15.

The unusual logistical arrangements have drawn significant attention as the tournament approaches, with concerns growing over the impact on both the team and its supporters.

While Iranian players continue their preparations for the global showpiece, many fans are awaiting clarity on whether they will be able to attend and support their team at the competition.
