Italian giants AC Milan have reached an agreement to appoint Portuguese tactician Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, according to reports.
The deal is understood to be in its final stages, with a verbal agreement already in place between both parties.
Amorim is expected to sign a contract that will keep him at the San Siro until June 2028, with an option to extend his stay by a further year until June 2029.
Reports indicate that the 41-year-old has accepted all conditions proposed by the Rossoneri, paving the way for his return to management just months after his departure from Manchester United in January.
Amorim, widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising coaches, is set to begin a new chapter in Serie A as AC Milan look to strengthen their squad and challenge for major domestic and European honours.

The Portuguese manager built a strong reputation during his time at Sporting CP, where he guided the club to league success and established himself as one of the continent’s most sought-after coaches.
His arrival is expected to usher in a fresh era at AC Milan, with club officials confident that his tactical approach and ability to develop young talent can help restore the seven-time European champions to the summit of Italian and European football.
While the club has yet to make an official announcement, the agreement is believed to be complete, with only final formalities remaining before Amorim is unveiled as Milan’s new manager.
The appointment marks a swift return to the dugout for Amorim, who will now turn his attention to preparing the Rossoneri for the upcoming campaign.
