Immediate past Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, has denied reports alleging that a court ordered his arrest over claims of certificate forgery, insisting that he is not under investigation by any law enforcement agency.
In a statement issued on Monday, June 15, 2026, and signed by his spokesperson, Dr. Robert Ngwu, Nnaji described the reports as false, misleading, and part of what he called a sustained attempt to damage his reputation.
He said he is neither in hiding nor evading arrest, adding that he continues to reside at his known addresses in Asokoro, Abuja, and Independence Layout, Enugu, which he said are familiar to relevant authorities.
The former minister also stated that neither he nor his legal team, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, has received any invitation, summons, warrant, or official correspondence from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding the allegations.

Nnaji further faulted reports suggesting he was being pursued by law enforcement agencies, stressing that the issue at the centre of public attention is already before the Federal High Court in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1909/2025.
He explained that the case was filed by him to seek judicial determination over issues relating to his academic records, including the release of his transcript, and remains pending before the court.
According to the statement, he approached the court voluntarily as claimant in the matter, contrary to suggestions that he was forced into legal proceedings.
Nnaji urged the public to disregard what he described as sensational and inaccurate reports, maintaining that he remains committed to due process and confident that the judiciary will resolve all issues based strictly on facts and evidence.
