Indian Garment Trader Found Dead After Alleging Abuse By Wife, In-Laws.

A 28-year-old garment trader, Rahul Khosla, was found dead in his shop in the Ballabhgarh area of Faridabad, India, after posting a video on Instagram in which he accused his wife and her family of subjecting him to prolonged physical abuse and mental harassment.

According to Indian police, Khosla, a resident of Sector 3 Housing Board Colony, allegedly died by suicide on Sunday after hanging himself inside the garment shop he had opened about four months earlier.

Police said he left home on Sunday morning after meeting his mother and proceeded to his shop. The incident came to light at about 11 a.m. when his brother, Amit, saw the video uploaded on Instagram and rushed to the shop with other family members.

They reportedly found the shop locked from the inside and broke the glass door to gain entry, only to discover Khosla unresponsive.

Police officers later arrived at the scene, recovered the body and transported it to BK Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

In the video recorded before his death, Khosla alleged that he had entered into a love marriage with his wife, Jyoti, also known as Preeti, two years ago, but claimed that he had since been subjected to continuous physical and emotional abuse by her, her mother Veena, father Bittu and sister Neetu.

He alleged that despite carrying out household chores, including sweeping, mopping and washing utensils, he was repeatedly assaulted by his wife.

Khosla further claimed that his wife insisted on living separately from his parents and had filed a false assault complaint against him two days earlier, leaving him under severe emotional distress.

In his final message, he appealed for legal action to be taken against his wife and her family. He also requested that his property be inherited by his mother, siblings and other members of his family.

Following a complaint lodged by Khosla’s relatives and the contents of the video, Sector 3 Police registered a case against his wife, her parents and her sister.

The investigating officer, Ajeet Singh, said police have commenced a detailed investigation and are verifying the allegations contained in the video.

Authorities have not announced any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
