The Ondo State Police Command has warned suspected cult groups against staging any activities to mark the July 7 cult day, declaring that security operatives have been deployed across the state to prevent any breach of public peace.
The command issued the warning on Tuesday, stating that it would take decisive action against anyone involved in cult-related gatherings, processions or other unlawful activities.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, the command said tactical units had been strategically positioned to forestall any planned celebration by cult groups.
The police stressed that public displays of cult insignia, initiation ceremonies, violent processions or the brandishing of weapons would not be tolerated, warning that anyone found engaging in such acts would face the full weight of the law.
The command also cautioned that any activity capable of causing fear, panic or disrupting public order would be swiftly dealt with by security personnel.

Parents and guardians were urged to closely monitor their children and wards and discourage them from joining unlawful groups or participating in activities linked to the proposed cult celebration.
The police further appealed to owners of hotels, bars, lounges, event centres and other recreational facilities not to allow their premises to be used for cult-related meetings or events.
According to the command, individuals or business owners found harbouring or assisting criminal elements would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order, assuring residents that adequate security measures had been put in place to ensure a peaceful environment across the state.
