Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has confirmed the end of her marriage to her younger husband, Bobby Maris, following days of speculation on social media.
Rumours of a possible separation gained traction after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. The speculation was further fuelled by a series of cryptic posts shared by the actress, her husband and her younger sister on their respective Instagram Stories.
Breaking her silence on Tuesday evening, Ogbodo confirmed that the marriage had ended in a series of emotional posts on her Instagram Story, where she questioned why women are often criticised for walking away from unhappy marriages.
“For Person to Tire for Marriage now nah Taboo because nah Woman! Must it always be Man must taya? My Tayad is Tayad! I’m Tired of the Princess wey dey marry me. What is wrong with that?” she wrote.

The actress suggested that happiness in marriage should not be determined by societal expectations, insisting that women also have the right to leave relationships that no longer work for them.
“To be happy As a Woman in Marriage is by Connection in this Country! I no do again nah Sin?” she added.
Ogbodo also reflected on the years she invested in the relationship, saying she had reached her limit.
“Make nobody push me to the wall because I be rubber. Eight years of my life is not enough yet? Maybe I should give it 20 years or maybe 6 feet under before the Crown of thorns can fit me well,” she wrote.
Although the actress did not disclose the specific reasons behind the breakdown of the marriage, her posts indicate that she had become emotionally exhausted.
As of the time of filing this report, Bobby Maris has not publicly reacted to Ogbodo’s comments or addressed the reports surrounding their separation.
