Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, on Monday arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja for his arraignment over alleged certificate forgery charges filed against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Nnaji, dressed in a white traditional outfit with a red cap, acknowledged supporters as he made his way into the courtroom ahead of the commencement of proceedings.

The ICPC is expected to formally arraign the former minister on charges bordering on the alleged forgery of academic certificates and making false declarations in documents submitted to public authorities.

The anti-corruption agency had concluded investigations into the allegations before filing the charges at the Federal High Court.

The arraignment follows Nnaji’s arrest on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where he was apprehended with the assistance of operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Following his arrest, he was handed over to the ICPC for further investigation.

The court is expected to hear the charges, after which the former minister will take his plea before further proceedings in the case.
