Troops Recover Assault Rifle, 45 Rounds Of Ammunition In Rivers Raid

Troops of Operation UDO KA have recovered an assault rifle and dozens of rounds of ammunition during a raid on a suspected cultists’ hideout in Obiakpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The operation, which took place in Ogbogoro community on July 13, was carried out by personnel of the 34 Artillery Brigade following credible intelligence, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.

Makama, in a post shared on his official X account on Tuesday, cited intelligence sources as saying the raid was made possible after a suspected cult member already in military custody led troops to the location.

During the operation, soldiers recovered one Beretta AR-70 assault rifle along with 45 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition believed to have been concealed at the hideout.
