Oluwo Hails Adeleke’s Victory, Calls For Alignment With FG

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the outcome as a reflection of God’s will and the choice of the electorate.

In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, the monarch urged Adeleke to cooperate with the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu to attract greater development to Osun State.

“When God speaks, I listen. When He instructs, I bow. When He commands, I submit,” the monarch said.

Akanbi described Adeleke’s victory as “a divine will of Olodumare expressed by voters through the ballots,” saying the result also underscored the increasing role of young people in governance and political participation.

“I congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on this remarkable victory. The victory is a pure manifestation of youthful participation and involvement in his administrative drive,” Oba Akanbi said.

The monarch credited Adeleke’s ability to mobilise a committed youth base with contributing to his electoral success, noting that the group worked extensively to canvass support and persuade voters to renew his mandate.

Akanbi, however, urged the governor to build a stronger working relationship with the Federal Government, arguing that cooperation with the Tinubu administration would help bring more development to communities across the state.

“Align with the Federal Government of President Bola Tinubu, so as not to be an isolated governor, because Osun needs the Federal Government to bring more development to cities, towns and villages, not only the capital,” he said.

He expressed confidence that closer collaboration between the state and federal authorities would translate into greater benefits for Osun residents.

“I have strong hope that aligning with the Federal Government will accelerate and attract more dividends to Osun State and her people,” he added.

The Oluwo also encouraged Adeleke to maintain a strong connection with residents at the grassroots beyond election periods.

He called on the governor to visit all local government areas and hold regular meetings or summits, which he referred to as “Apero.”

“I urge you to be closer to the grassroots, not only during elections. Pay visits to every local government and stage a periodic summit (Apero),” he said.

Akanbi further appealed to Adeleke to show magnanimity following his victory and ensure that his administration treats all residents fairly, irrespective of political affiliation.

“You are the governor of all in the state,” Oba Akanbi said, while praying for God to grant Adeleke good health and the wisdom required to lead and develop Osun State.

The monarch concluded his message by again congratulating the governor on his electoral victory.
