The Delta State Police Command has arrested six suspects, including a 15-year-old female juvenile, during a raid on a suspected illicit drug distribution outlet in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.
The operation was carried out by operatives of the Department of Operations following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected drug dealers operating along Alegwe Street, off Owa Road, Agbor.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the raid was conducted in furtherance of the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel E. Erale, to intensify the fight against drug-related crimes and other criminal activities across the state.
During the operation, six suspects were arrested.
They were identified as Anabel Haruna, 18, Terhemen Faith, 19; Kaityo Abigail, 23, Iorkee Eunice, 26, and Osomuri Emmanuel, 31, while the identity of the 15-year-old female juvenile was withheld in accordance with applicable protections for minors.
The police said a subsequent search of a vehicle linked to the suspects led to the recovery of quantities of Tramadol, Rohypnol and other suspected illicit substances.
The suspects and recovered exhibits have been taken into police custody as investigations continue into their alleged involvement in the sale and distribution of illicit drugs.
The latest arrests form part of intensified efforts by the Delta State Police Command to disrupt the supply chains through which illicit substances are distributed within communities.

The Commissioner of Police warned drug dealers and their networks that the command would continue to identify and dismantle criminal enterprises involved in the illicit drug trade.
CP Erale noted that the proliferation of illicit drugs could fuel violent crime and other forms of criminality, stressing that the command would not allow Delta State to become a safe haven for drug trafficking or other criminal activities.
He directed police operatives across the state to intensify intelligence gathering, surveillance and enforcement operations against suspected drug dealers and their distribution networks.
The Commissioner also urged members of the public to support security agencies by providing credible information that could assist in identifying locations being used for the storage, sale and distribution of illicit substances.
The command said the investigation remains ongoing, with further action expected as investigators establish the extent of the suspects’ alleged activities and identify other persons who may be connected to the suspected drug network.
