A former member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has said the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has made significant sacrifices for the All Progressives Congress and President Bola Tinubu.
Jibrin made the statement while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he described Wike as an asset to the ruling party.
He said APC members had benefited directly or indirectly from Wike’s political efforts, particularly in relation to the Tinubu administration.
“If I had the opportunity to advise the APC Governors’ Forum, I would have advised them to go about it in a very diplomatic manner,” Jibrin said.
He added, “There is no APC member who has not directly or indirectly benefited from the efforts of Wike. So long as we are talking about delivering the President, managing the government, and also performing in terms of his work, there is nobody.”
Jibrin said his comments were not intended to defend Wike but argued that the FCT minister had contributed significantly to the political fortunes of the APC and the President.

“I’m not holding brief for Wike, but I believe that he has sacrificed so much for the APC and the President. Wike has handed over Rivers State to the APC,” he said.
The former lawmaker further described Wike as an “asset” to the ruling party and cautioned APC members against making public statements that could embarrass the minister.
“Wike is an asset to the APC. I don’t think Wike should be embarrassed at this moment with public statements,” he said.
Jibrin also said politicians in opposition parties had acknowledged Wike’s contributions to the APC-led administration.
“There are people who are in other parties who are working with us in the NDC and the ADC. Some of them called me yesterday, saying, ‘Look at what they are saying about Wike,’” he added.
