Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has expressed condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and families of personnel who died in the military aircraft crash in Ondo State.
Obi, in a post on his X account on Monday, said he was deeply saddened by the incident and offered his condolences to the families, colleagues and loved ones of the deceased.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the Nigerian Air Force,” Obi wrote.
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the crash involving a Nigerian Air Force aircraft.
“I offer my sincere condolences to the Nigerian Air Force, the families of the officers and personnel who perished, and their colleagues and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Obi described the deceased personnel as courageous men and women who dedicated their lives to defending Nigeria and protecting its citizens.
“These courageous men and women devote their lives to defending our nation and safeguarding our people. Their service and sacrifice must never be overlooked,” he said.
He prayed for the repose of the deceased and strength for their families and colleagues.
“I pray that God grants eternal rest to those who have departed, consolation to their families, and strength to the Nigerian Air Force and the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria,” Obi added.
He also prayed for the safety of military personnel serving across the country.
“May God continue to watch over all who serve our country and protect them as they carry out their duties,” he said.
