The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspects in separate operations targeting cultism, armed robbery and kidnapping, recovering a locally made cut-to-size firearm, four live cartridges, one expended cartridge and a cutlass.
The police noted that the arrests were made on October 10, 2026, during intelligence-led operations in Abraka and Ubulunor.
This was made known in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe.
In the first operation, operatives of the Command’s Quick Response Squad (QRS), acting on credible intelligence, arrested a 37-year-old suspect, Adogbeji Johnson, also known as “Highman,” in Abraka at about 4:45 p.m.
The suspect, who is believed to be a member of the Black Axe Confraternity, also known as Aiye, is being investigated over alleged involvement in cultism and armed robbery.
A search of his Toyota Sienna vehicle reportedly led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size firearm, two live cartridges and a cutlass. The police said the suspect remained in custody as investigations continued.
