2027: Wike-Backed PDP Chairman Boasts Party Will Win All Contested Positions

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, has expressed confidence that the party will win all the positions it contests in the 2027 general elections.

Mohammed, who is backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, made the prediction on Tuesday, November 3, in Abuja during a meeting between the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and state chairpersons.

He commended the state executives for ensuring a smooth process in selecting candidates across the country, expressing optimism that their efforts would translate into electoral victories.

“I want to thank you [state chairpersons] for making sure that we have a smooth process [candidate selection] across the 36 states to enable us to come out with successful candidates, which is our prayer that, in sha Allah, come 2027, our candidates will make it in all positions that they are vying for,” he said.

The PDP chairman said his leadership would work towards ensuring that the outcome of the next general elections benefits the country and its citizens.

Mohammed said the NWC, under his leadership, will do everything possible to ensure that the “outcome of the 2027 elections will be a starting point for success for our dear nation, and most especially the teeming electorate across the federation”.

“That’s our responsibility, and by God’s grace, we will do everything possible to ensure it becomes reality,” he said.

The forum chairman disclosed that the group had petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, and heads of other security agencies over the alleged incidents.

He said the petitions sought urgent intervention to stop the reported harassment and attacks on PDP members.
