The Nigerian Army has published the list of candidates shortlisted for the Selection Board exercise of its Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027.
The Army announced the development in a statement shared on its official X account on Thursday, directing applicants to check their selection status through its recruitment portal, nashortservice.army.mil.ng.
According to the announcement, shortlisted candidates are expected to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Ribadu Campus (Old Site), Kaduna State, from November 23, 2026.
The selection exercise will run until December 11, 2026, with successful applicants undergoing screening and assessment for possible commissioning into the Nigerian Army.
The SSCC programme provides qualified civilians and serving military personnel with an opportunity to become commissioned officers in the Combat Arms, including Infantry and Armour, as well as Combat Support Arms such as Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence.
Candidates who successfully complete the required training are typically commissioned as Second Lieutenants under a 15-year short service arrangement.
The Army advised applicants who submitted applications between mid-August and October 17, 2026, to visit the recruitment portal to confirm their status and familiarise themselves with the reporting requirements.
