Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, on Friday challenged Governor Seyi Makinde to arrest him if he can over the quit notice he gave to Fulani herdsmen last week in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Ighoho had issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Fulani in the area, who he accused of being the masterminds of alleged kidnapping and banditry that have become rampant in the area.
Makinde, however, countered Igboho’s order in a state broadcast, declaring that nobody had the right to evict anybody from any part of the state.
But Igboho however defied the governor’s order on Friday when he and his supporters stormed Igangan, threatening to eject herdsmen from every part of Yorubaland.
Igboho, in an undated viral video, which emerged on Friday, berated Governor Makinde.
Though he didn’t mention Makinde’s name, the activist left no one in doubt that he was to the Oyo governor.
He accused Makinde of backing herdsmen, recalling how he assisted the governor to win the 2019 election.
Igboho said, “You can bring all Fulani to Yorubaland, if you like, you unfortunate ones. It will not be well with you.
“You are threatening me in my fatherland with Fulani, you will not prosper.
“Is it the Fulani that make the laws of the land? Have you forgotten when you were ‘bankrolling’ me when you wanted to become governor and all I did for you all during the elections, and now you dare threaten me?
“Well, I don’t believe that you are serious with your threats yet, until you bring all the soldiers and policemen to arrest me in my house, before I know you are serious. You are all fools.”
