Delta State politician and former House of Representatives member, Ned Nwoko, has revealed how he uncovered alleged assassination plot against him.
The billionaire politician, who is married to one of Nigeria best young actresses, Regina Daniel, said on Thursday that one Mr Ossy Bosah, who was serving a jail term at Kuje Prison in Abuja, revealed the plot to him.
He said that an inmate at the correctional centre revealed the plot to Bosah, who in turn hinted him about it.
He said that after the supposed plot was revealed to him, that Bosah got threat messages and subsequently died shortly after he was released from the prison.
Noting that the event happened recently, he said an autopsy had been carried out to ascertain the cause of Bosah’s death.
“Bosah was able to get the information on social media and the attention of my wife, Regina, was drawn to it. I then reported the matter to the police and Department of State Security (DSS) and they went and interviewed the inmates involved.
“The inmates mentioned the name of one businessman who deals in the oil and gas sector as the master minder,” he said.
Nwoko linked the alleged plot to kill him to a piece of land in his community in Delta where he was building a university, adding that the struggle on who becomes the next traditional ruler of his community was also another significant reason for the alleged move.
