SOJI AJIBOLA, IBADAN
An Ibadan Family Magistrate Court has remanded a 60-year-old man and two others in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) over alleged rape and defilement of 13- and 17-year-old girls in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The 60-year-old suspect, Nojeem Anifowose, was alleged to have raped, defiled, assaulted, as well shaved the private parts of the girls.
Anifowose was arraigned before the Family Magistrates’ Court 2, Ibadan, by Anti Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the NSCDC.
In a separate incident, two other suspects were arraigned before the Court for a similar offence by the NSCDC.
The suspects, Allen Adetoyose, (41) and Francis Abayomi, (58) were accused of rape and defilement. An offence punishable under the state criminal code.
The state commandant of the NSCDC, while briefing newsmen, said that the suspects had been remanded in the custody of the NSCDC while their cases had been adjourned till February 15 and March 15, respectively.
