Police arrest three suspects over kidnap of two men in Adamawa

Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected criminals for alleged kidnap of two men in Gombi Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects are 22-year-old Likita Muhammed from Zangra village, Ibrahim Adamu 26, a native of Balhona village and Buba Mammadu, 20-year-old and a native of Balhona village.

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, while speaking to newsmen on Monday, said that the three suspects were apprehended on Saturday. He added that the three suspects were among five kidnappers reasonably believed to have abducted two men some time ago in the Gombi area of the state.

 According to Nguroje, investigations have revealed that the three suspects worked with the other two to mastermind the kidnap of Ali Ahmadu, Alhaji Guruza of Antasa and Balhona villages in the Gombi LGA in November last year.

“The suspects were apprehended at their various hideouts in Gombi town following credible information and intense search by the Police and Pulaku Vigilantes team of Gombi Division.”

“Investigations so far revealed that the suspects are members of a notorious armed robbery/kidnappings that specializes in terrorizing innocent citizens in the Central zone of Adamawa and Kwaya Kusa in Borno State,” he said.

In the meantime, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji has directed further investigations into the case for more evidence and also asked that the suspects be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigations.
