Ogun Assembly impeaches deputy speaker over alleged misconduct

Deputy Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Dare Kadiri has been impeached over alleged gross misconduct.

The lawmaker, who represents Ijebu North State Constituency 2, is said have been facing a battle in the House, a development believed to have led to no fewer than 22 lawmakers signing the petition for his removal.

The ploy to sack Kadiri apparently reached the peak on Monday when an ad-hoc committee was set up by the House Speaker, Kunle Oluomo, to investigate some allegations against him among which was alleged “gross misconduct.”

He was, however, removed on Thursday morning during the House plenary.
