Champions League: Tuchel worries over Chelsea ahead Atletico Madrid clash

Thomas Tuchel admits the absence of Mason Mount and Jorginho this Wednesday night against Atletico Madrid is a worry. He, however, backed the rest of his squad to step up and fill their boots in the goal-scoring stakes.

Both Mount and Jorginho are suspended for the second leg at Stamford Bridge after the Blues picked up an impressive 1-0 win away in Madrid in the first match. Although not renowned for their goal-scoring, Mount and Jorginho have been the most prolific Chelsea players under the Tuchel 12 games reign so far, netting three times each.

He will also be without the injured duo of Thiago Silva and Tammy Abraham for the clash, but the manager knows he has a deep squad to choose from and he says their absences make selection an easier process, although the loss of Mount and Jorginho is a concern.

‘Tuchel also confirmed that Thiago Silva and Abraham will be back in action after the international break; they will sit out the Champions League clash today and the Premier League meeting with Sheffield United on Sunday’.
