Minister of State for Labour, Festus Keyamo, says ruling All Progressives Congress is still in power today in Nigeria because of the political clout and influence of its National leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Keyamo said the opposite would have been the case if Tinubu had bowed to pressure from the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Keyamo, who stated this in a birthday wish he posted on his verified Twitter handle, recalled that Tinubu’s principle against the ‘rampaging’ opposition PDP helped the APC to hold on to power.
He tweeted, “Here’s wishing the “Ja a gabar borgu”, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a happy 69th birthday celebration.
“His principled and consistent opposition to the then ruling and rampaging PDP Government and his refusal to collapse as the ‘last man standing’, is the reason APC is in govt today.”
Speculations have become rife that the APC National leader is eyeing Nigeria’s Presidency after Buhari, but he has yet to publicly declared his interest.
Tinubu is currently in Kano for his 12th Colloquium being attended by APC stalwarts and other top government officials.
