A middle aged man identified as Ahmed Saka has reportedly committed suicide after killing his ex-lover and two of her children at Shogoye area in Ibadan South-East Local Government Area.
The man, as reliably gathered, set the apartment of his ex-lover identified as Mutiat Oladele ablaze leading to the death of the woman and two of her children.
Mutiat and Saka, according to our findings, were dating before the relationship turned sour and this development did not go down well with Saka who threatened to kill himself and his ex-lover.
After several efforts to prevail on the woman to rescind her decision failed, Saka embarked on his evil plans by setting the apartment of the woman ablaze.
The woman and her two children were burnt beyond recognition while the three other children are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Olugbenga Fadeyi said “They are lovers; the man went to set the house of his ex-lover ablaze because the woman said she was no longer interested in the relationship.
“The woman and her two children died as a result of the incident.
“The man that set the house ablaze died later while three other children sustained injury and are being treated at the hospital.
Fadeyi said that further investigation on the incident was ongoing.
