Military men flood Imo, begin show of force over attacks

The Nigerian Army has flooded Imo State following attacks in the South-East state by unkwn gunmen.

On Thursday, the army launched a show of force in the state apparently to boost the moral of security agents in the state and to restore the confidence of the people in the security agents.

Last Monday, a yet to be known gunmen had attacked Owerri Correctional Center and the Imo State Police Command headquarters.

The gunmen were said to have also attacked a military base at Ukwuorji on Owerri-Onitsha expressway burnt a soldier in a car and razed four military operational vehicles.

On Thursday, there was huge presence of military men on Orlu-Owerri Road, Owerri-Onitsha expressway and Owerri-Okigwe Road.

FirstNews also learnt that there was 

huge presence of military men in Owerri metropolis.

Similarly, the leadership of the Imo State Police Command, on Thursday deployment no fewer than one thousand cops to strategic places and security facilities in the state.
