Insecurity: new service chiefs are doing their best —Buhari

… says they know what is wrong

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the new service chiefs knew the problem of insecurity in the country and were doing their best to contend it.

The President said this while speaking in an interview with newsmen shortly on arrival from his medical trip to the United Kingdom on Thursday.

Speaking on the performance of the new service chiefs since there appointment in January this year, Buhari said, “Oh yes, they have been in the system all the way, they know what is wrong, they know what is right and I think they are doing their best. I hope their best will be good enough for Nigeria.”

Also fielding questions on what he expects from the new Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, who he appointed while in London, the President said, “Well, we went through the system, there was a committee by the Minister of Police Affairs.

“They gave me some names and he happened to be the one chosen. He knows his job, he has been in it for a long time, he went through all the training, he has the necessary experience. So, we have a high expectation from him.”

When asked what Nigerians should expect from his government after his rest in London, Buhari said, 

“continuity.”

He also told newsmen that his medical checkup in London “went very well, after your good wishes.”

FirstNews reported that Buhari landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Thursday evening.
