Suspected Fulani herdsmen kidnap kinsmen, demands N13m ransom in Ibarapa

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly kidnapped two of their kinsmen and are demanding payment of N13 million ransom before their release in Ayete, Ibarapa North Local Government area

An eyewitness account revealed that  five suspected gunmen invaded Oba Ayete community around 7pm, carried out an onslaught before proceeding  to Igangan community.

One of the victims, Amadu Shehu Imoru, aged 40, was kidnapped  at Oba Ayete settlement while Alhaji Kusore Shadani was abducted  at Ilaji Ile farm in Igangan.

Confirming the incident, one of the victim’s parents, Imoru Gafar, said the family had established a link with the suspected kidnappers.

He  told the police that abductors called the line of their captive’s brother on Saturday, demanding N10 million as ransom.

The victim’s father further told the police that the caller’s voice was that of Bororo Fulani.

It was gathered that a similar link had been established with the family of  Alhaji Shadani.

The kidnappers were said to have called a brother of Alhaji Kusore, demanding N3 million as ransom.

When contacted, the state police spokesman, Adewale Osifeso confirmed the abduction, adding that police operatives have been on the trail of the abductors to apprehend them and rescue the victims.
