Lawmaker blames Makinde over insecurity in Oyo

Lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi has blamed the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde over the worsening insecurity in the state.

Akinremi, who is the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Science Research Institutes, made the allegations while speaking in Ibadan. He was reacting to kidnappings, killings and attacks on innocent citizens in the state in recent time.

According to him, Makinde has not done enough to manage the security of the state unlike his predecessor, Abiola Ajimobi.

He said, “As you all know the kind of security that we enjoyed in Oyo State during the time of our former Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi. During the time of our former governor, we all know what we enjoyed in all parts of Oyo State.

“It is unfortunate that we are experiencing this in the state. I will not say much. I wish them well. But, as lawmakers, we are assisting the state, you know regardless of party affiliation, we are talking about people, if APC is there, it is the same people, if PDP is there, it is the same people.

“Regardless of the party affiliation, I think we are trying our best as lawmakers to assist the state government in tackling insecurity in the state.

“So, we wish them well but they should be prepared to hand over power to APC in 2023.”
