President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday requested the Senate to expeditiously confirm Major General Farouk Yahaya as the Chief of Army Staff.
This was contained in a letter Buhari sent to the President of the Senate and read at the plenary of the federal lawmakers on Tuesday.
FirstNews reported that President Buhari recently appointed Major-General Farouk Yahaya as the new COAS.
His appointment came six days after the former COAS, Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 officers lost their lives in a plane crash in Kaduna.
