Senate urges Buhari to immortalise late COAS, Attahiru

Nigerian Senate on Tuesday advised President Muhammadu Buhari to consider immortalising the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.

Members of the red chambers during their plenary on Tuesday observed a minute silence in honor of the late COAS. After the silence, a point of order was raised by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume.

FirstNews has reported that the late COAS died alongside with three other generals, two Majors, a sergeant and four crew members, including the pilot and co-pilot, who were in the rank of Flight Lieutenants and two other non-commissioned AirForce officers on board the military Beachcraft 350 aircraft, which crashed at the Kaduna International Airport on May 21.
