SOJI AJIBOLA, Ibadan
Two persons including an undergraduate student of Leed City University, Ibadan are feared killed and scores injured following a clash between men of the Oyo State Management System under the leadership of Mr. Mukaila Lamidi and shop owners in Iwo Road area of the state.
Business activity was paralysed during the period the attack lasted as motorists and passersby scampered for safety.
Dangerous weapons including cudgel and cutlasses were freely used as men of the PMS were allegedly moving from one store to the other.
It was learnt that a similar brawl was reported on Monday between the men of PMS and members of the proscribed National Union of Road Transport Workers in Oremeji Agugu under the bridge in Ibadan North East Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the Wednesday evening incident was a reprisal of what happened on Monday.
The fight which started around Lagos and Sagamu garage spilt over to under the bridge.
The attack aside from reported killings witnessed looting and destruction of properties.
After several hours of sporadic shooting, police from Iwo Road Divisional Headquarters were drafted to the scene to restore normalcy.
