One of the groups at the frontline for the agitation of Yoruba Nation, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), have vowed to hold the protest despite the attack meted on Sunday Igboho by the Department of State Service (DSS).
Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho, who is part of the group had backed out of the protest following the invasion of his house in Ibadan by the DSS personnel on Thursday.
Despite this, his partners in the struggle had vowed to proceed with the planned protest in Lagos on July 3rd.
A source from the group who hinted on the development said plans are ongoing despite what happened to Sunday Igboho, adding that the group would not chicken out.
Meanwhile, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu had warned that anyone caught participating will be dealt with within the ambit of the law.
But a member of the group who spoke anonymously said: “What did you expect the Police to say? They are obeying the federal government. The Police told us not to hold the rally in Ogun and others but we did.
“It’s not compulsory that Sunday Igboho attends. I am telling you now that the Yoruba Nation rally will hold.
“The Ilana Omo Oodua under the leadership of Professor Akintoye already made it clear that we will come out.”
