Anambra 2021: PDP’s candidate, Soludo’s name missing as INEC releases participants list

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has ignored the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Valentine Ozigbo, from participating in the coming Anambra governorship election on November 6.

This is coming as the electoral body released the names of the candidates that will partake in the election without the name of the PDP candidate.

Meanwhile, the commission also ignored the factional candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Soludo, from the list.

The commission, while giving reason for the decision in a statement on Friday by Festus Okoye, its National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, said it acted according to court order.

FirstNews had reported that former CBN governor, Charles Soludo had emerged the winner of the APGA faction loyal to Governor Willie Obiano.

But INEC has cleared the candidate of the other APGA faction, Chukwuma Micheal Umeoji, for the governorship election while excluding Soludo.
