Murdered Super TV CEO, Ataga, buried in Lagos

Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Micheal Usifo Ataga, who was murdered at a short let apartment in  Lekki area of Lagos has been buried.

He was buried today (Friday) at the Ebonyi vaults at Ikoyi, Lagos.

The deceased was murdered on June 15, 2021, allegedly by Miss Chidinma Ojukwu, a 300l Mass Communication student of University of Lagos, Akoka.

According to his family, he was buried around 12.30pm in a low-key ceremony attended by his family members, including his wife and friends.

The programme for the burial issued earlier by the family stated that “A Service of Songs will hold on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Incubator, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

“A funeral service will hold the next day, (Friday, July 30, 2021) at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Victoria Island, Lagos and his remains interred the same day.”

The bereaved family, however, did not speak on its position on the outcome of the ongoing investigation into Usifo’s murder.

Ojukwu was consequently arrested on June 23 in her father’s house in Yaba and paraded at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja.

She confessed to having stabbed Ataga multiple times with a knife under the influence of alcohol.

The young lady, who fled the crime scene and withdrew a sum of N380,000 from the victim’s account with his ATM card, later backtracked in a video, absolving herself from the murder.
