The attention of the management of First Media Limited, publishers of firstnewsonline.ng has just been drawn to a grave misrepresentation of the story published on our website and carried on the front page of today’s edition entitled, “Self-rule: Akintoye, Igboho’s torchbearer, plans mass protest at UN Assembly.”
We just discovered that the original rider of the story was mistakenly replaced with the wrong one: “.FG, in turn, declares him wanted,” by our production crew in the course of processing the news item for the website and the front page.
We have immediately corrected the error in the story on our website and instantly circulated the right front page to all our readers.
The management of FirstNews Media Limited, Lekki, Lagos, sincerely apologise to our elder statesman and erudite Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye, for this slip on our part. This is not intentional or aimed at impugning the personality and reputation of the elder statesman.
