Speaking Igbo will soon become crime under Buhari’s govt – Eedris Abdulkareem

Nigeria hip-hop artist, Eedris Abdulkareem has said speaking Igbo in Nigeria would soon become a crime under President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.

Eedris’s coment was coming following the arrest of a veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu by military men.

First News had reported that some soldiers arrested the veteran actor for wearing Biafra attire.

His arrest was confirmed by the Nigerian Army which claimed he was inciting members of the public and soliciting support for IPOB.

In his reaction to the development, Abdulkareem in a Facebook post said Agu deserves a great honour.

According to him, “No matter the kind of film Chiwetalu Agu acts in, he is more wise and brave than other actors in the East and must be honored.

“People will soon be arrested for speaking Igbo in Nigeria.”
