Amosun’s parallel state congress, a melodrama, says Reps member, Ojugbele

SEGUN AYINDE, ABEOKUTA

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele, has reacted to the factional state congress of the All Progressive Congress held by party members loyal to former governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, in Ogun State recently.

Ojugbele, representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, said that the state congress of the party held by Amosun’s supporters at Ake Palace grounds was not only fake but a melodrama.

The Federal lawmaker, who spoke in an exclusive interview in Abeokuta, the state capital, urged party faithful not to join the immediate past governor of the state in his anti-party activities, but support Governor Dapo Abiodun to retain power in the state in 2023.

He said that the presence of Chief Wale Ohu, the state congress chairman and other delegates of the party from APC National Secretariat, Abuja, at the congress held at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, in company with Governor Abiodun and other APC stalwarts, showed that Amosun had failed in his plan to hijack the state’s party structure.

“That is fake, they stage- managed the arrangements of that place, it’s a melodrama. The original delegates came from the National Headquarters in Abuja and were ably represented by Chief Wale Ohu. This is authentic, don’t let anybody deceive you,” he added.
