Insecurity: Resign now, save Nigeria from ruin, PDP tells Buhari

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, on Friday asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign if his administration cannot find a permanent solution to the worsening security situation in the country.

Chairman of the main opposition party gave President Buhari this advice at a media briefing at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

At the press briefing which had the theme, ‘Nigeria a free fall as corruption, Insecurity engulfs our nation,’ Secondus argued that it was now clear to all Nigerians that the Buhari government had run out of propaganda concerning the worsening security situation in the country.

The PDP national chairman also stated that the recent decision of over 300 soldiers to resign from service and the call by the National Assembly for the service chiefs to resign had exposed the “press statement” victories of the government over Boko Haram insurgents as a fluke.

According to Secondus, “What we are witnessing in our country today is a total collapse of the nation, the country is on ventilator gasping for air, under such circumstance. President Buhari should do the honourable thing required of an elder statesman in situations like this, throw in the towel and save the country from ruins.”
