The National Assembly is said to have again transmitted the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill to President Muhammadu Buhari for his assent.
It was learnt that the NASS Clerk, Arch. Olatunde Amos Ojo, transmitted the document to Buhari on Monday.
According to a source, the bill is currently with President Buhari.
The bill was earlier transmitted to Buhari in December but he refused to assent to it on the ground that it allowed for direct primary as the only option for parties to elect their candidates for elections.
But after amending the bill by including consensus and indirect mode of election as options for parties to elect their candidates, the bill was returned to Buhari.
It is not clear if Buhari will give his assent to the bill this time.
