The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cancelled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting earlier fixed to hold on Thursday (today).
The announcement came hours after Presidenti Muhammadu Buhari announced his support for Governor Mai Mala Buni as the party’s chairman, and cautioned governors of the party to work with him for a successful convention
The cancellation of the meeting was contained in a statement by the Secretary of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, on Wednesday night.
The statement partly read; “As directed by the National Chairman of the APC, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning (CECPC) and Governor of Yobe State, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, a purported emergency meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) slated for Thursday, March 17, 2022 is hereby cancelled.”
