Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team D’Tigers have advanced to the second round of the FIBA World Cup African Qualifiers holding in Rwanda after Mali failed to show up.
D’Tigers had a walkover over Mali who failed to show up to their games in protest against their Ministry of Sports over unpaid salaries.
Nigeria was earlier defeated by Cape Verde 79-70 on Friday and will face Uganda in the last qualifying game of the first round on Sunday.
The next round of qualifiers will be held between 22-30 August, 2022 window.
