Nigeria’s Falconets have crashed out of the ongoing FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup after losing to Netherlands in the Quarter-finals.

The Falconets dominated the game but could not convert all their chances to goals as the Dutch team put two goals past them.

Despite winning all their group stage matches, scoring five and conceding only one goal, the girls went into the match with confidence but were not able to conquer the Dutch girls.

It was as if nothing was working for them as the girls kicked all their shots on target from long distances as they almost scored by sheer luck but a shot hit the bar, towards the stoppage time a penalty was overturned by the VAR to deny the Falconets a respite.

Spain who beat Mexico 1-0 in the first quarter-final match on Saturday will now face The Netherlands for a place in the semi-final.

Brazil who also won 1-0 against Colombia on Saturday in the second quarter-final match, will play the winners of the fourth quarter-final match fixture between defending champions Japan and France.
