Lagos State recorded no fewer than 973 emergency response cases in the last seven months, spanning January and July 2022.
Lagos State Emergency Management Agency disclosed this in a report released on Tuesday.
A breakdown of the statistics reveals that LASEMA recorded 377 road accidents, 31 cases of building collapse, 103 fire incidents, and 54 deaths during the period under review.
A further analysis shows that the highest number of emergency cases (165) was recorded in January followed by May, when 160 cases were recorded. The lowest number (107) of emergency cases was recorded in April.
In the breakdown, Alimosho Local Government Area of the state recorded the highest number of emergency cases, totalling 145 during the period, while Badagry recorded the lowest- 2.
The report also revealed that LASEMA responded to 58 cases in the neighbouring Ogun State.
