Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, said on Thursday that the results of the February 25 presidential election came as a shock to many who had declared a winner before the Independent National Electoral Commission did.
Shehu, who is a Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, stated this while speaking on an Arise Television News programme.
According to him, despite the irregularities observed in the conduct of the February 25 election, it remains the most improved in Nigeria’s history.
Shehu had in a statement on Monday, argued that the Buhari administration had laid the groundwork for credible elections in the country.
But he said it is left for INEC to manage the collation of results.
