FG Approves Reopening of 47 Unity Schools After Security Review

The Ministry of Education has officially cleared the way for academic activities to resume at dozens of federal institutions across the nation.

In a statement released on Thursday, the 18th of December 2025, officials confirmed that the temporary hiatus triggered by recent safety threats has concluded.

The government emphasized that the move is part of a broader strategy to maintain a stable learning environment despite regional challenges.

The “reopening of the 47 unity schools earlier shut down due to security concerns” has been authorized.

Government Stance: According to the Ministry, this move “reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to safeguarding students and ensuring the continuity of education.”

This follows a period of heightened caution where the “Federal Government ordered the closure of the unity schools weeks ago following the abduction of students in schools in parts of the country.”
