Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently dismiss the country’s service chiefs over the persistent killings and rising insecurity across Nigeria.
Frank made the appeal in a statement on Sunday while reacting to the recent killing of Nigerian soldiers in Borno State by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
He lamented that the security situation in the country has degenerated to a point where Nigerians are being slaughtered “like chickens.”
“The daily killings of innocent citizens in the North, South, East, and West clearly show that our security architecture has collapsed under the current leadership,” Frank said.
He faulted the government’s handling of the security sector, accusing it of poor funding and mismanagement. “Our soldiers and policemen are dying in large numbers due to inadequate equipment and poor welfare.
Despite the huge budgetary allocations, the funds never get to those on the front lines or are used to buy modern weapons to fight insecurity,” he noted.
Frank commended former U.S. President Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz for speaking out against the killings in Nigeria. He urged Tinubu to heed their counsel and take decisive steps to restore security and order.

“We appreciate President Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz for their boldness in condemning the killings of Nigerians. Their voices have helped break the silence of our political class,” he said, stressing the importance of maintaining Nigeria’s long-standing relationship with the United States.
The activist also criticised the Nigerian Senate for condemning Ted Cruz’s remarks instead of addressing the root causes of insecurity. He described the lawmakers’ reaction as “a national disgrace,” accusing them of failing in their oversight duties.
“If the National Assembly had performed its role effectively, ensuring that security chiefs deliver on their mandates and that citizens like Nnamdi Kanu are treated justly, foreign leaders like Senator Ted Cruz would have no reason to single out Nigeria for such criticism,” he added.
Frank concluded by reiterating his call for the immediate overhaul of the country’s security leadership, insisting that only bold and sincere action from President Tinubu can end the cycle of violence.
