₦50,000 FG Grant: How To Check Your Eligibility, Receive Payment

The Federal Government’s National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) is giving selected poor and vulnerable households a one-time ₦50,000 grant to ease the high cost of living. It is a free grant (not a loan), paid in full with no deductions, through mobile wallets.

You cannot apply or register. Beneficiaries are chosen automatically from the National Social Register and verified national identity (NIN) records. Selection is based on need across all six geopolitical zones. No one can add your name for a fee.

How you will know if you qualify

Selected people receive an SMS from one of five approved providers: ALAT (Wema Bank), MoMo PSB, NairaGram, OPay or Moniepoint. The message confirms selection and gives a USSD code.

Example: “Relief! FGN has selected you to receive ₦50,000 under NERSI… Dial *945*23# to accept.”

You can also check yourself by dialling the provider’s code and choosing “Check eligibility.” A basic phone works—no smartphone or data needed.
