SEGUN AYINDE, ABEOKUTA
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Tuesday, said great emphasis will be placed on the relative value and cost of each expenditure item in the 2021 Budget.
Recall that the process of the preparation of the Year 2021 Budget was kick-started with Sensitization Programme with Stakeholders in the various sectors of the economy on the Vision and Focus of the state government.
But, Abiodun while speaking at the Treasury Board Meeting on 2021 Budget organised by the State’s Ministry of Budget and Planning and held at Obas’ Complex Abeokuta, said that his administration would commit resources to each expenditure item for the new year.
He charged Ministries, Department and Agencies to contribute their quotas in assisting the government to achieve strategic allocation of resources towards a cost effective and efficient 2021 budget that would create wealth for the people and further develop the state.
The governor called on the people and relevant stakeholders in the state to continue to cooperate and collaborate with the state government to ensure a more robust fiscal Year that will sustain its policy and programmes towards the building of the state’s future together
He said that the government had allocated about 10% of the revised budget to battle the effects of the pandemic, while other sectors, including Agriculture, Housing, Education, Health and Infrastructure, amongst others, were key to enhancing the living conditions of our people.
Abiodun said, “For this reason, in the year 2021 Budget, great emphasis will be placed on the relative value and cost of each expenditure item upon which Government will commit its resources. I charge you all to ensure that your contributions will assist in achieving strategic allocation of resources towards a cost effective and efficient 2021 Budget that will further guarantee individual prosperity of our people and continued development of our dear State.
“For the coming Year 2021, we all have responsibilities to ensure a more robust fiscal Year that will sustain our policy and programmes towards the successful implementation of “Building our Future Together” Agenda. I call on all relevant stakeholders to continue to cooperate and collaborate with us towards building a more prosperous future for our dear state.” .
