Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has called on Nigerians to jettison the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and the major position party, the People Democratic Party (PDP).
He said the two parties have nothing new to offer Nigerians.
Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the PDP, was quoted by Daily Trust to have said this when he featured on a local radio, Nasara FM, in Kano at the weekend.
The paper said that Kwankwaso described the two political parties as being surrounded by people with the mind of envy.
According to the former governor, rather than queue behind either the APC or the PDP, Nigerians should collectively look for a new party capable of rescuing them from misrule.
“I didn’t see anything that either APC or PDP will show or tell Nigerians to get convinced and vote for them in the coming 2023 elections. So I think people should now come to think of the right party and people to support and vote for so that we can rescue the present situation.
“In 2015, we gave the leadership of the state to some, thinking that they will make it, but not knowing that it won’t yield any positive outcome. That is why we are back to rescue our state,” Kwankwaso was quoted to have said.
There are speculations that Kwankwaso is making moves to dump the PDP alongside his supporters.
