The African Democratic Congress has launched a free online membership registration platform as part of efforts to comply with the digital membership register requirements of the Electoral Act 2026, even as it maintains its objections to provisions of the law it considers unfair.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Sunday, March 1, the party said the new portal was designed to enable it meet the legal requirements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The new digital registration platform, accessible via www.adcregistration.ng, is designed to enable the party meet the requirements of the new Electoral Act 2026 regarding digital membership registers,” the statement read.
The ADC said only members whose details are fully captured and verified on the official digital register would be eligible to participate in the party’s primaries.
According to the statement, the online option was introduced to make the process as accessible as possible following strong interest recorded during the physical registration exercise launched in February.
“Since the launch of the physical and grassroots membership exercise in February, we have recorded strong interest from Nigerians across states and the diaspora,” the ADC said.
“The introduction of the free online option is designed to remove barriers to entry, simplify enrolment, and ensure that every eligible Nigerian who wishes to identify with the ADC can do so seamlessly and securely,” it added.

The party also directed members who had registered on its previous platform to revalidate their membership on the new portal.
“Members who have registered on the Party’s previous platform are also required to revalidate their membership on the new digital portal, as additional mandatory information is now required to ensure full compliance with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines,” the statement said.
Support groups and associations were encouraged to take advantage of the registration window by visiting adcregistration.ng.
However, the ADC made clear that its compliance with the registration requirements did not amount to acceptance of the Electoral Act 2026.
“ADC would like to emphasise that this exercise is without prejudice to our firm objections to the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 that give undue advantage to the ruling party, as well as the consequential INEC timetable,” the party said.
The statement comes days after the ADC rejected the revised INEC timetable for the 2027 elections, accusing the ruling APC of having insider knowledge of the Electoral Act’s digital registration requirements a full year before opposition parties became aware of them.
However, the party had warned that the April 2 deadline for submitting digital membership registers to INEC gave opposition parties just 34 days to compile data that the APC had been gathering since February 2025.
“The African Democratic Congress remains committed to building a modern, inclusive, and citizen-driven political movement capable of delivering credible leadership and a better Nigeria that works for all,” the party concluded.
